Veteran Brings 20 Years’ Experience in Finance Leadership

LENEXA, Kan., Sept. 1, 2021 — Airshare, the nation’s tenth-largest operator of private jet aircraft, today announced Josh Johnson has joined the company as chief financial officer (CFO). Johnson will serve on the Airshare executive leadership team and report to Airshare President and CEO John Owen, who previously served as the company’s CFO prior to being named chief executive officer in 2018.

Airshare currently operates a fleet of 50 aircraft and offers fractional ownership, jet cards, whole aircraft management, charter services, and third-party maintenance. The company recently announced plans to double its fractional fleet via the acquisition of up to 20 Bombardier Challenger 350 super midsize aircraft.

Johnson, 42, has nearly 20 years’ experience in accounting, financial reporting, research and enterprise risk services. He joins Airshare from NIC, Inc., where he served as vice president and corporate controller. He has also held financial leadership positions with YRC Freight, Collective Brands, Inc. and Deloitte & Touche.

“Following an extensive nationwide search for our new chief financial officer, I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Josh to Airshare,” said Owen. “Josh’s background and experience is a perfect complement to our executive team. He will help us further capitalize on the tremendous potential for the company, both now and in the future. We’re really excited about the impact he’s going to have on the business.”

Johnson currently serves on the supervisory committee of CommunityAmerica Credit Union and the Accounting Advisory Board of the University of Kansas. He holds an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in Accounting & Information Systems from the University of Kansas.

“I am thrilled with the opportunity to join the leadership team at Airshare,” adds Johnson. “I was thoroughly impressed by their strategic vision for aggressively growing the company, and their timing couldn’t be better with the burgeoning demand for private aviation solutions. I’m excited about the future of Airshare and look forward to playing a key role in helping us achieve the ambitious goals we’ve outlined for the company.
